Members of the Sacramento Valley Chapter of the American Payroll Association (SVAPA) have partnered with Sierra College to build and teach payroll-specific courses at Sierra College. The classes are based on the material in The Payroll Source and are designed to serve several purposes:

• Help students prepare for a career in the payroll profession
• Help students prepare for taking the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exams
• Provide continuing education for certified payroll professionals by awarding 30 RCHs per class when passed with a grade of "B" or better
